KAREN TRIES TO CANCEL LAB: Demands 'Monster' Dog Be Leashed For Her 'ESA'.
So I was just trying to enjoy a quiet Sunday morning walk with Winston, my big goofy Labrador, at Willow Creek Park. You know, letting him sniff around, chase a ball, just be a dog. It was a beautiful day, not too many people yet. And then this woman shows up. Early 60s maybe, had this tiny, fluffy white dog on a leash, practically a dust bunny on a string, which she kept referring to as "Precious." Winston, bless his heart, is just doing his happy dog thing, exploring a bush, maybe a little happy woof because he smelled something interesting. Not barking constantly, just a little excitement noise. She walks *straight* up to me, with this look on her face like I’d just kicked her dog. And she goes, "Excuse me, but your dog is being very disruptive. Precious is an emotional support animal and he gets overstimulated by loud, boisterous breeds." Like, what? I’m standing there, totally taken aback. I told her, "Ma'am, this is an off-leash dog park. Winston's just playing." She actually looked at me, dead serious, and said, "I demand you put your monster back on a leash or take him home. Precious has anxiety, and *your* dog's aggressive behavior is triggering him." Aggressive? He literally looked in her dog's direction for two seconds! She went on and on about how this park needs to be "inclusive" of "sensitive" animals and how I was "endangering her dog's mental health." My dog is a sweetheart! He wouldn’t hurt a fly! God, it pissed me off. Like, lady, if your dog can't handle other dogs in a DOG PARK, maybe don't bring him to a DOG PARK? Luckily, Mark, one of the other regulars with his Golden Retriever, heard her getting louder. He came over, just shook his head, and said, "Ma'am, this is an off-leash area for dogs to socialize. If Precious is having a tough time, maybe a different park or a quiet walk would be better for him." She just huffed, grabbed her little fluff ball, gave me the dirtiest look, and stormed off muttering about "ignorant people" and how she was going to call the park ranger. Seriously. The entitlement is just… wild. Her dog, an "emotional support animal" that can't handle other dogs *at a dog park*. You can’t make this stuff up.
